Almost all the dogs that visited the Arctic got there as draft dogs. The exception is the Titin Fox Terrier. She was delivered to the North Pole by air, in comfort and warmth.

Tintin was not born with a golden spoon in her mouth. She wandered through the Roman streets, but she was lucky enough to meet Umberto Nobile, the pioneer of airship building. Nobile and Titina became inseparable. So much so that in 1926 the owner decided to take the darling on a historical flight on the airship he designed. This caused extreme discontent from the famous polar explorer Roald Amundsen: the airship was so crowded that only Titina could sit - on a pile of provisions.

The little dog was not ignored by the press. Journalists covered her life in detail, down to the description of knitted cardigans. And after the return of Titin accompanied Nobile on a world tour.

Titina shared with the owner not only joy, but also failure. In 1928, the airship "Italy" landed in a storm and crashed. Not all survived. The survivors set up camp and waited for a month for help until a Swedish plane found them. And at that moment, Nobile’s reputation was ruined. The plane could only accommodate one person, and Nobile flew into Titine's company, leaving his comrades, including the wounded, for which he was harshly criticized. True, after World War II, Nobile returned the title of Major General and dropped all charges. He claimed that only Titina’s support had helped him through difficult times.
