Shepherd met a calf who lost her mother .ru

Shannon, a resident of a small village in the United States, was walking with her German shepherd named Leo not far from home on a sunny Saturday, when they stumbled upon a little six-day-old lost fawn, who was completely alone and excitedly called his mother.
The girl wrote about this unexpected meeting with a calf, to whom she even came up with a name, on her page in social networks:
“This little girl named Maggie was spotted looking for her mom around five in the morning on Saturday. At about one o'clock in the afternoon we returned and intervened a little in the situation - we did not let her run out onto the highway located nearby. Two assistants — a forest ranger — drove up to us and helped take Maggie away from the road, back to the brook in the shade of the trees. We watched her from the whole day, hoping that her mother would return soon. ”

“Rangers advised against approaching her for at least a day. Wild animals often leave their cubs to rest and eat. Lost moose calves, in fact, in rare cases turn out to be lost in truth. ”
The next day, Shannon looked out of the window to see how Baby Maggie was doing, but did not notice her and thought that her elk mom had already taken her.

“On Sunday morning, I did not see Maggie in the clearing. Then we went with calm soul for a walk with Leo. He went behind the bush and ... nose to nose ran into her, and they quickly became friends! Then I fed her a cocktail of grass, clover and water. Elks should not be given lactose, so I added just a tiny bit of milk. And then she talked with a local veterinarian, and he advised her to transfer it to a baby formula without lactose. ”

Maggie the calf spent the whole day following Shannon and Leo on the heels, asking for a little attention.
Shannon wrote:
“You won’t believe how affectionate she is!”
And on Monday, the couple had to say goodbye to the guest - the baby was taken to the local Wildlife Park, where she will begin a new life under the supervision of caring caretakers.
