Japanese Spitz: reviews. "Japanese Spitz - a megapositive dog"
Before Japanese Spitz, I had no dogs, only ordinary “noble” cats. But, like many, I dreamed about a dog. I really liked the Samoyeds, but for the apartment they are large. I also liked Pomeranian spitz, but not that either ... And once on the Internet I saw a Japanese Spitz - and the mosaic developed: white, fluffy and Spitz!
In Belarus, the breed is still rare - about 20 Japanese Spitz live in the country.

Character of Japanese Spitz
Japanese Spitz is a real companion dog. They are insanely human-oriented, loyal and loving. When the owner of the house, the Japanese Spitz is always at his feet. But at the same time they are not intrusive. They simply are present nearby and enjoy seeing their master.
Breeder's Observations: This breed is an excellent choice for the family, they are great for children, including small ones. If the child is explained that the dog cannot be hurt, there will be no problems. Japanese Spitz is an affectionate, delicate, patient dog, she will never offend a child. My own child grew up with these dogs and everything was fine.

A cat still lives in our house, and she also never suffered from dogs. We have no birds, so I can’t say anything, but I think that there would be no conflicts with them either.
Japanese Spitz is an active, very positive dog.
Spitz is originally a guard dog. Their task is to notice the danger and give voice, this is a kind of “bells and whistles”. But at the same time, such a name of the Japanese Spitz as the “quiet Asian Spitz” is often found in the literature, and the standard stipulates that noisiness is unacceptable. Therefore, when compared with other breeds, they are not insulting, not idle, but they like to talk.
Alone they miss. Of course, the apartment will not be taken apart and the door will not be removed from the hinges, but they can skoda in their youth - however, within reason.

Education and training of Japanese Spitz
Japanese Spitz dogs are intelligent, easy-to-breed and highly trained dogs.
In Russia, Japanese Spitzs successfully perform in the circus, in the Baltic countries they take part in agility and often win.
We do not have sports grounds in Vitebsk, but with one of our dogs, Stepha, we took a course of UGS.

Japanese Spitz Care
Japanese Spitz are not particularly fond of dirt, but they are not afraid, in the rain we walk without problems.
In winter, Japanese Spitzs do not freeze, but in wet, dirty times we put on raincoats, because it’s quite troublesome to completely wash the dog after each walk.
Japanese Spitz learn to walk without problems. This is still not a diaper decorative breed, but a full-fledged dog, and they need a full-fledged walk: 2 (or preferably 3) times a day.
Breeder's recommendation: Japanese Spitzs do not need much physical exertion, but they like to walk. In the morning they need only 15 minutes for a hygienic walk, and it is advisable to walk for half an hour or an hour in the afternoon and evening. But when we go out of town, they are ready to rush all day - these are very hardy dogs.
In general, caring for a Japanese Spitz is straightforward.
Grooming is minimal. Japanese Spitz, unlike many other related breeds, are not sheared, only a neat “cat's foot” is made.
Breeder's recommendation: When compared with German Spitz, the wool of Japanese Spitz is of a completely different quality, and in ordinary life it does not shake. For normal grooming, it is enough to wash the dog once a month, blow dry it and comb it. This is enough for a month.
After the street, just wash the paws. If the weather is bad, rain and dirt, and the dog walked without overalls, we rinse the paws and wool on the stomach with water.
Wool in Japanese Spitz is self-cleaning. If we come to the country, they, it happens, become chocolate-colored. While the earth is wet, it keeps on the wool, but when it dries, the dirt falls off itself - and the dog is clean again. Dirty icicles on wool never hang, even dirty, raw wool never has an unpleasant smell of a dog.
Shedding in Japanese Spitz is seasonal, and this is the only problem in the content of this breed, because they molt abundantly. Bitches molt more often - also before estrus. During molting, the dog must be combed thoroughly so that no tangles arise.
For combing, it is advisable to use a comb with spinning cloves and a pooderka.

Japanese Spitz Health
Japanese Spitz is a relatively new breed, the first dogs appeared in Belarus in 2010. And precisely because the breed is young, it has not yet been spoiled by unscrupulous “scouts”. They have no genetic diseases.
Of course, dogs that are used for breeding, it is advisable to do tests for patella and eye diseases, but this is on the breeder’s conscience.
Breeder's observations: They are not prone to allergies, but due to the white color, the slightest defect is immediately noticeable. Therefore, the main “scourge” of the breed is the current eyes. As a rule, the cause is food allergy, although there may be anatomical reasons. It is necessary to choose a food suitable specifically for this dog.
Japanese Spitz Feeding
Of course, all dogs prefer natural food, but it’s troublesome to feed white Spitz dogs with a “natural”, so our dogs eat dry food.
What kind of host does a Japanese spitz need?
Japanese Spitz is suitable for absolutely anyone. He can keep company with an elderly person in leisurely walks in the park and go in for sports with active young people, go hiking.
An ideal owner is a person who loves dogs and who has the time and desire to look after a pet. No matter how trouble-free the dog may be, it needs to pay attention and time.
